My sister Charlotte Kingman introduced me to scrapbooking in 2001 and it slowly became a huge part of my life. Even though they are not all scrapbookers, my mother and my sisters are all artistic. It's something we love to share, and something which gives us a lot of pleasure. My daughter Tasmyn loves to scrapbook too and knows exactly what she wants to do when she's creating her layouts! As well as showcasing photos, I love to record stories, memories or special conversations. I try to journal from the heart as much as possible. I think journaling is really important. I don't have a fantastic memory, and since I'm very sentimental I love to be able to look back on my layouts, read and reminisce. I often create layouts about my daughter, my family and my childhood, and occasionally other themes. I love the scrapbooking process - choosing photos, products, working out a design and compiling journaling. I spend way too much time choosing products, which is why kits are such a fantastic timesaver, cos everything matches! I'm thrilled to be a part of the Designing Memories Design Team, and to be working with Katja and the rest of the talented Design Team.

I am married to my wonderful husband Gary and we have one son, Benson who is two. We live in the northern beaches of Wollongong – I think one of the most beautiful places on this earth. I discovered scrapbooking when I was pregnant with Benson and my first project was his birth announcement cards. I was so proud of them then, but now look at them and think of what I could have done! Scrapbooking to me is a wonderful combination of story telling, beautiful photos and creativity. I am fortunate that both my husband and I have a keen interest in photography so there is never a shortage of photos to scrap. I love to use handwritten journaling and layers of patterned papers. I am a huge fan of new products and have the stash to prove it. As a way to record my stories for when I have time to scrapbook them, I started blogging. I love this means of sharing stories and ideas with family and friends as well as keeping memories to inspire future layouts. My blog is www.kimarnold.typepad.com. |

I am a mother of two little ones and starting scrapbooking when my son was born - almost 3 years ago now. I live with my husband and and kids up in sunny North Queensland and love it! Why do I scrapbook? I want to preserve all of the little things that happen while the kids grow up - all the everyday "stuff" that we think is funny, cool (or not) at the time but forget as time passes. I believe it is all those fleeting moments that should be preserved for myself but also for my kids so they can look back at it and smile at those memories. My style? I like to think of it as "simple". I like clean lines, I'm not scared of a little white space on a page, I love to play with paints, stamps, rub ons. I draw inspiration from so many places - the net, books, magazines, but especially from the story behind my photos. I don't usually start with a plan when I scrap. I tend to sit down and wait for it all to come together as I play - it works sometimes, others - not so much! |

I started scrapping so that I could have a little album keepsake to give to my daughter on her first birthday. I planned to do some pages reflecting upon her first year of life and then slowly add pages each year and hand over the album at her 21st! 5 years, 15 albums and 2 more children later I am still scrapping and loving it! I am married to my best mate Brett and God has blessed us with 3 gorgeous munchkins. My main inspiration for scrapping is these guys and the way that we travel through life together. I am enjoying scrapping about my own life too so that they can understand my relationship with Jesus, my joys, hopes and dreams, fears, challenges and failings and all that comes in between! I am honoured to have been published in Scrapbooking Memories, Creating Keepsakes (Aust), Scrapbook Creations and For Keeps writing articles, sharing project ideas and layouts. I recently had the joy of seeing my new line of acrylic stamps and chipboard by Buzz and Bloom, released into the scrapbooking market place here in Australia and internationally also. I hope that by the time all my children celebrate their 21st birthday's, they'll have a whole cupboard full of albums all about their own life's journey! |

Hi, I'm Kathie Link and I live in Adelaide, Australia, with my husband Phil and our son Jamie. I'm an evening scrapper - I scrap a couple of nights a week when Jamie has gone to bed. The rest of the time I'm busy being a wife, mother, safety adviser and home renovator. I love my creative time and have to admit that I often find myself daydreaming about layout designs while I should be researching safety standards or sanding back walls! My style is predominantly vintage, although Jamie's pages tend to use more pure colours and have a whimsical feel. I love to experiment and I don't like my pages to look too perfect. I have a need to ruin a "perfect" page by throwing in a bit of torn paper, a discordant colour, messy stitching or a great big smudge of ink. I love adding personal touches too - a little hand-drawn sketch or a handmade embellishment. Having Jamie has without a doubt cemented my need for journaling on a page. I have become obsessed with capturing the everyday stuff of our lives. I know I'll remember the milestones - the first birthday, the first words; it's the little everyday moments that I'm terrified of forgetting. They're the things that drive me to keep creating. I love Katja's ability to draw product together to create fantastic kits and I'm looking forward to creating with them! |
